The Practice: Letting Go

Letting Go, a practice of reflection, asks you to make peace with yourself at the end of the day. Reflecting helps you recognize blessings in your life, even amidst the challenges, and see gifts and opportunities in the everyday moments. Gain an awareness of how your actions and thoughts impact your life and others, as your mind, body, and heart become more aligned with how you wish to live.

Allow the Past to Pass

Letting Go is a gentle, simple practice of looking back on your day without judgment or criticism. Treat yourself with kindness and compassion. Forgive yourself and others, cultivating patience with yourself and those you encounter.
Each evening, spend five or ten minutes reviewing your day. Do not spend more time than that; it’s far too easy to get stuck in the past! Watch your day as if it were a movie. Stay in the present, even as you see things you wish you could change. Eventually, you will identify your negative and positive tendencies and conditioned behaviors.

Appreciate your awareness! Life often repeats itself; keep this awareness as guidance for future thoughts and actions.
Celebrate positive changes. Your peaceful living produces remarkable personal growth!
