An Amazing Weekend

Blog

This past weekend we had the honor of hosting Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo. She began our new year as the first guest of Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life.  She is one of the more respected Western figures of contemporary Buddhism. Jetsunma is among the first Westerners to be ordained a Tibetan Buddhist nun. Whereas she spent twelve years of her life in a remote cave in the Himalayas,  what she emphasizes is the practical wisdom on living our daily lives.

We discovered that we have said the same thing as Jetsunma. Our daily life is our spiritual life. It is our family, our friends, our coworkers, all the people we come in contact with during the day. It is how we respond when things don’t go our way. Our practices  https://peacefulmindpeacefullife.org/practice.php gives us the tools to carry a thread, a reminder, that  the opportunity to transform is found in our everyday lives.

As you read the great figures from all the world’s spiritual practices you do come to realize that truth, is truth, is truth….

“You learn to speak by speaking,
to study by studying,
to run by running,
to work by working;
and just so, you learn to love by loving.

All those who think to learn in any other way deceive themselves.”

– Saint Francis de Sales
